have a large and diverse group of people who are homeschooling their
children in Ohio. Hopefully, there is something for everyone here.
If you find a listing you like, go that site and check out their
links to other groups as well. This list is by no means complete.
If you want to add your group to this list, contact
us.
The
groups are organized in the following sections:
Associations
are groups that include an organization of several similar groups.

Groups, Networks groups are singular organizations of people
with a specific mission statement and goals. The descriptions chosen
for this page hopefully capture that spirit.
NOTE:
Most of the groups on this page are based in Ohio. Because some
groups are not served by groups in Ohio, there are some National
based listings as well.

Christian
Home Educators of Ohio
New, far more complete website now. CHEO seeks to preserve the God-given,
constitutional right to home educate, and to support and encourage families
in fulfilling this Biblical responsibility.
Christian Home
Educators of Cincinnati
Christian Home Educators of Cincinnati (CHEC) was founded in 1987 through
the joining together of east and westside homeschool support groups to
create a citywide organization. These pioneering home-educating families
responded to God's call to assist and encourage all families who desired
to incorporate their children's academic and spiritual education directly
into their family life. Over the years, CHEC has grown to encompass a
number of like-minded, geographically-based support groups located throughout
the greater Cincinnati area.
Christian
Home Educators Stark County Association

at home. Decidedly Christian and family-oriented, CHESCA seeks to serve
homeschooling parents through activities, encouraging fellowship and seminars,
and political involvement. CHESCA is open to like-minded homeschoolers

LDS
Home Educators Association
Every home is a homeschool. Some families have only a few minutes of family
time each day; others have many hours to be together because the children
are educated at home instead of at school. Although this website is designed
for full time homeschoolers, we hope all families will find ideas here
to make their homeschool happier. Before the Savior comes, the children
will come home.

African-American
Unschooling
Conservative figures estimate that African Americans make up 5-10% of
the general homeschooling population. This web site and the companion
support groups, serves to meet the needs of families striving to raise
spiritually whole and healthy African-American children.
Akron
Roman Catholic Home Educators
We are a group of families who have chosen to educate some, or all, of
our children at home. As a Catholic support group, we are committed to
following Jesus Christ as instructed and led by the Magisterium (teaching
authority) of the Roman Catholic Church. We are diverse in our schooling
approaches, but united in our desire to raise our children to be steadfast
disciples of Jesus, full of wisdom and faith, lacking nothing (James 1:4).
In the spirit of ecumenism, we welcome families of all faiths.
Buddhist-homeschool
· Buddhists Homeschoolers
We are a group of parents who are Buddhists or simply have a strong interest
in Buddhism and who are homeschooling their children. If you are homeschooling
or planning to homeschool, you are welcome to join this list. We accept
all Buddhist sects and work to keep our information "generic"
to the Dharma and Buddha's teachings. Posting of general homeschool-related
information and links is also welcome.

All are welcome to join this free group. There are no requirements to
join, and no boards or committees. We are an informal, inclusive group
of homeschoolers, or those interested in learning more about homeschool,
in the Dayton Ohio area. We have no religious affiliation. The main idea:
to share info, go on field trips, teach or participate in co-op classes
in all subjects, support each other in whatever method of homeschooling
we use.
The
Evolved Homeschooler
Welcome to The Evolved Homeschooler Wiki. This is intended to be a central
resource to collect and maintain the best of the homeschool community
on the Web. The idea is that rational homeschoolers are welcome to create
their own page on the wiki and maintain a set of links or a collection
of articles that represent their personal "best of." The criteria
for eligibility is simple. You must believe that evolution is the best
explanation we have today to explain how life has progressed on planet
Earth. If evolution is compatible with your religion (or lack thereof)
feel free to create your page here.

· Gifted Ohio Homeschoolers
GiftedOhioHomeschoolers is for parents homeschooling or considering homeschooling
a gifted child in Ohio. We are here to network with other parents, exchange
ideas and information, share concerns and give support. We believe giftedness
comes in many forms and that there is no one right way to educate. Therefore,
we are very tolerant of each other's differences including world-view,
religion and philosophy of education. Folks in surrounding areas are welcome
too.

community, which includes secular humanist, atheist, agnostic, freethinking,
rationalist, and skeptic homeschoolers. The information on this site reflects
the suggestions and recommendations of the members of our Discussion Forums.

and not be influenced by emotion, authority, tradition, or any dogma.
The cognitive application of freethought is known as freethinking, and
practitioners of freethought are known as freethinkers."

to Jewish homeschoolers of all levels of observance. ("messianic"

This informal relaxed list is restricted and discussion will be limited

The
Militry homeschooler - Serving homeschoolers in the United
States, and around the world.
Military homeschoolers are a subset of two subsets. As military family
members we walk like Americans, we talk like Americans but, despite having
American citizenship and, for the most part, having been raised as Americans,
we're not your run of the mill citizen. As homeschoolers we join support
groups, we gather materials, and we are as diverse as the rest of the
homeschooling community, but we're almost perennially strangers in a strange
land.
OHEN
- Ohio Home Educators Network
Ohio Home Educators Network (OHEN) is a regional network of homeschooling

when it comes to homeschooling your kids? Do you just want a place to
come together with other people like yourself who are homeschooling for
non-religious reasons? Then you have come to the right group! This is
the place to find all kinds of secular resources and where you can get
non-religious opinions on home education curriculum.
Thinking
Parents
This project was originally named Thinking Homeschoolers, however Thinking
Parents sort of took over on its own. I can't change the name of the wiki
page, so we are stuck with it. The idea behind Thinking Parents is to
give us an excuse to think and write about something other than curriculum
decisions or the latest dumb ass statement from HSLDA. (If you are offended
by the HSLDA comment you really shouldn't be here.) Every two weeks we'll
release a new topic. Any homeschooler that wants to write about that topic
simply does so on their own blog and provides a link here. This page will
hold the index of topics and schedule of future topics.
